Curved Top Explorer

I love the look of a curved top Les Paul. For a long time I wanted to see what that would look like on an Explorer style.

This guitar is the first guitar I ever built. It was built in the corner of my boss’s garage. It was intended to be a trial run because I assumed I’d mess it up, so it’s built using the cheapest pine I could find; old 2x4s for the neck, and home wood found at home depot for the body. The color scheme was a close match to my favorite shovel.

I love the idea of having carvings on the back of a neck because they look pretty and they might help you feel where you are on the neck if you play that guitar enough and get used to that specific neck.
